I don’t even know where to start but the food. The people in the place was amazing. We had such a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner there. I highly recommend it and if you have not been definitely go check it out ASAP!!!
The food was delicious and the place felt like a warm, family owned restaurant. Easily the best Thai food I’ve had in recent times, you can feel their passion for Thai cuisine when you eat here. The small menu is a big plus because everything is clearly made with care. Everything tasted authentic and reminded me of the food I’ve had in Thailand. Will definitely keep coming back.
This place is downright amazing and is a hidden gem. The owner, Nop, And his wife run the restaurant and they’re the nicest people you could ask for. Every dish we’ve had here has been top-notch. When you look at the menu, you just want to say yes to everything. After you try a few things you’ll know that everything on there is worth ordering. I happily recommend the boat noodle bowl! It’s hard to go wrong here. Everything is so fresh and clearly made to order.
I am from bangkok and live in nyc with family down here and am so thrilled to have found a legitimately authentic Thai restaurant in the area!!! I was excited just by seeing what they offered on their menu and was not disappointed. We had the fried meatballs, papaya salad, yum beef with rice and boat noodle soup. We already planning to come back in an hour or two to order takeout for dinner and when to bring my father in law back for a taste of good thai in his area. Thank you for opening up shop
Authentic Thai food- actually even better than I have had in Thailand because they have mastered their families’ recipes. The owners will enthusiastically explain the various menu options. Our favorites were the SENLEK MIXED BEEF which is a SLOW cooked all day beef noodle soup, the Papaya salad perfection- not too sweet an perfect crunch AND - had pork rinds served with it which I haven’t had except in Thailand, and th spring rolls were mouth watering. I strongly recommend! Note- be sure to note their early closing time so you don’t miss if you are looking for dinner.’m
We tried Senlek Thai for the first time today. We had a fantastic meal and excellent service. The vegetable spring rolls are perfectly crispy and paired with the sweet chili sauce it truly makes for a wonderful appetizer. I had the F2. Tom Kha Soup with chicken while my spouse enjoyed the N1. Senlek mixed beef noodle bowl. Both are incredibly delicious and the deep flavors of each dish are soul warming. While we dined we as had the opportunity to meet the owner Nop. He was incredibly welcoming, kind, eager to take care of everyone in the restaurant. Our experience was fantastic and we are already planning our next trip to Senlek Thai!
We were passing through Birmingham and looking for Thai food. We went to Senlek based upon the reviews and the friendly staff. We were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very new, well decorated and very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. We had two different rice dishes and a papaya salad. All was great, We’ll certainly come back! Update…. Fast forward almost three weeks and we’re traveling through Birmingham again. We had to make another stop at Senlek for a bite to eat. Once again, we were totally amazed with the food quality, restaurant, cleanliness, and extreme friendliness of the staff. Senlek is only a couple miles off I-65. It’s certainly worth a short side trip to have some quality Thai food with friendly service.
The owner (Nop) made us feel so welcome. The food is authentic Thai with dishes I'd never seen before and was eager to try. We enjoyed the rich beef broth, generous portions, flavorful fish cakes, and the best fresh orange juice I've ever had. Come here!
